  1. Alen, I so admire your authenticity in today’s episode. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I can see how your new show name will resonate even better with your true purpose and meaning. I so enjoy learning from your journey and from those you share it with.

  2. Thank you. I have come so far since I started to listen to your podcast, using your app BIE and now once again you hit the nail on the head. No words can say how much I appreciate YOU. Thank you

  3. Hey, Alen… Came over to have a listen because Laurie Weaver speaks so highly of your podcast. Now I can see why.

You had me at the comment of how perfectionism hides deep inside us while outside we don’t act like a perfectionist at all. All my life, from the time I was in elementary school, I have felt a nagging disconnect between who I am and who everyone thinks/says I should be — including that inner voice. And every time I change hats in an effort to please whoever I’m with at the moment, that stupid inner critic STILL has something snarky to say. It has always felt like a no-win situation. So your phrase Progress Not Perfection feels like a breath of fresh air. And very nonthreatening.

I love the symbolism of the armor. It’s a metaphor I’ve used on occasion as well. Could write a book about trying to shed that outer shell piece by piece…

I’m glad I finally got over here. Am looking forward to tuning into your podcast regularly. May the winds always be with you!

  4. This is exactly what I needed to hear. Every time I told myself my behaviors were perfectionistic, I then followed with, “I can’t be a perfectionist, I’m so far from perfect.”

At least I have a place to start–not sure where I’m going, but I’m starting.
    Thank you!
