47. Motivation with Coach Cookie Rosenblum

CookieCropped

Coach Cookie Rosenblum talks to Alen Standish about motivation and how to stay motivated when trying to make a change in habits or behaviors.

One of the most common questions Alen gets from listeners is “How do I stay motivated?” or “Why do I always loose my motivation after only a few days?” Cookie has some great ideas and wonderful suggestions you’re going to want to hear!

Before the conversation with Cookie, Alen shares some of his perfectionism challenges with the podcast and a small format change he’s going to try doing to help himself through it.

  1. Just wanted to say I totally get where you’re at with changing the podcast up. Sometimes the things we think are going to be so great for us end up not being such a blessing, and our perfectionistic tendencies won’t let us let go of them.

I waited 50 years to take piano lessons. When I finally did, the perfectionist in me insisted that every time I made a mistake in a piece of music I had to stop and start over. My poor piano teacher didn’t know what to do with me. LOL In the end the stress of it got to be too much for me. After two years I let it go. It’s taken me a long time to reconcile what I wanted so much with what actually happened, but finally I’m able to say, well, at least I gave it a shot.

You do what you gotta do to try and stay healthy emotionally. Best of luck with the new format.

    • Cheryl, thank you for saying that and sharing the story about the piano lessons and how you decided to deal with it. You’re right, it’s exactly the same. Thank you for your wonderful support!!! 🙂
